One dead after morning rollover on Barnett Road

A fatal wreck happened in the 4600 block of Barnett road around 2:15 Thursday morning. Officials say an officer saw an SUV leave a home on Lakeshore Drive with their headlights off.

The officer turned around to check on the vehicle and that's when the vehicle took off. The driver of the vehicle. Johnathon Thomas Hutchison then turned north onto Barnett road, accelerating at a high rate of speed.

As the officer tried to catch up to him to initiate a traffic stop. Hutchison went through the intersection of Southwest Parkway and Barnett. Police say the driver hit a dip, lost control and rolled the SUV multiple times.

Coming to a rest in a field located on the west side of the 4600 block of Barnett Road. They say both Hutchison and the passenger, a 17-year-old white male was ejected. Both men were transported to United Regional, where Hutchison died from his injuries.

Currently, the juvenile is still being treated at the hospital. Officers say the SUV was actually stolen from Burkburnett. Police say the juvenile could be charged with evading, stolen vehicle and possibly have more charges added.

Hutchinson has numerous past run-ins with the law.

In July of 2016, Hutchinson and his then 15-year-old cousin were arrested after a series of vehicle burglaries in the Wellington and Huntington Lane area.

Authorities were responding to multiple break-ins when a deputy spotted a person hiding in a ditch. Three people then got up and ran. Deputies found a pickup nearby with no gas and the keys still in the ignition.

Hutchison was later found hiding under a mattress in a mobile home and authorities also charged a woman and the juvenile.

Also in the mobile home were one and four-year-old children authorities say were left alone during the crime spree.

Hutchison was sentenced to 14 months in state jail last Jan. for multiple burglaries and apparently released last Sept.

The woman arrested with Hutchison got nine months in jail and admitted they left the children alone in the mobile home when they left around 2 a.m. to break into cars.
