It happened around one Sunday morning in the 3000 block of Kell West between the Taft and Lawrence Road exits.
Wichita Falls police say 17 year-old Derrick Harley was apparently the only one in the GMC Envoy wearing a seat belt.
According to witnesses, the SUV was heading East at a high rate of speed when it tried to pass another vehicle on the right slid into the median and rolled.
Police originally believed all of the teens were thrown from the car but we've learned from police that Harley, the only one wearing his seat belt, was the only one not thrown from the vehicle.
A passenger, 18-year old Lakarl Williams passed away at United Regional Monday afternoon, and 18-year old Kamary Williams is listed in good condition.
Officials at United Regional will not release information on 17-year old Derrick Harley or 16-year old Xavion Smith-William, minors who police say were also involved in the crash.
Friends and loved ones gathered Sunday night to spend time praying for the boys.
They say right now all they can do is pray and stay strong for their friends.
"Just saying strong for them. It's very emotional, but we gotta just stay strong for them because I know that Lakarl and them would want us to just stay strong," friend and teammate Cedric Battle said.
