In Clay County this morning, one person was taken to the hospital after a car hit a school bus taking an Amarillo cheer team to a state volleyball game.
It happened around 11:30 a.m. on Highway 287 in Bellevue.
DPS troopers say Chevy Impala pulled in front of the bus carrying the cheerleaders to the state semifinal volleyball game in dallas.
Troopers say no one on the bus was hurt but a 29 year old passenger in the car was taken to Clay County Memorial Hospital.
The students were taken to a Bellevue church until another bus could arrive and take them to Dallas.
Troopers say the 52 year old driver of the Impala was ticketed for failure to yield the right of way at an open intersection.
