An Oklahoma man is dead and a state officer is injured after a shooting, now being investigated by OSBI.

Thursday, two Beckham County officers were trying to serve a felony warrant on 43-year-old Larry Dale Plaster at his home, but officers say when they tried to arrest him, he fled.

A Beckham County sheriff's deputy joined the chase and he says when he tried to arrest Plaster, the man hit him multiple times with an axe. That's when the deputy fired several rounds, hitting him at least once.

Plaster died at the scene. Now the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is looking into this shooting. The deputy's name has not been released.
