Plans for Permanent Water Reuse Project Move Forward

- With construction of the emergency water reuse pipeline wrapped up, the city is already working on switching over to the permanent water reuse project.

The application to start the project was submitted before Christmas.

The permanent pipeline will discharge water into Lake Arrowhead.

Right now the city is just waiting on the TCEQ to grant them a permit to move forward.

“We need that permit before we move forward with any type of design or improvements at the waste water plant because we need to know exactly what permit limits we need to meet. That will tell us what type of facilities we need to build,” says Wichita Falls Director of Public Works Russell Schreiber.

While they wait for the permit, they will be meeting with property owners to talk about right of way acquisition for the new pipeline.

The emergency water reuse project is expected to be recycling water back into our system starting in May.
