Police: Habitual Forger Passes Fake Check While out on Bond

- Police say a Wichita Falls man who's a habitual check kiting schemer is back at it again.

Thirty-four year-old Jason Menikheim was most recently charged with forgery.

Officers say he passed a counterfeit check to Elliott Electric Supply for nearly $1000.

They say Menikheim opens bank accounts with minimum deposits to get the routing and account numbers and writes bad checks from other accounts to cover the other bad checks.

In one previous case, police say Menikheim used his own father's account in his scheme.

In another case, police say he stole thousands from a Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant where he worked, taking cash and replacing it with checks.

The arrest affidavits states the Wichita County District Attorney's Office has more than 100 worthless checks passed by Menikheim.

And now he's out of jail again after bonding out of the Wichita County Jail on a $50-thousand bond.
