Police: Man Arrested for Assault is Person of Interest in Murder

Police say a man arrested for aggravated assault at a local nightclub is a person of interest in the murder of a Wichita Falls mother of three.
Monica Partida's body was found  in her home on Britain on Feb. 9.
Forty-year-old Jerry Joe Garza is charged with two counts of aggravated assault.
Bond for Garza was set at a half million dollars on each charge.
According to an arrest affidavit, those charges stem from an incident at the Las Vegas Club on North Scott in late November.
    Garza allegedly assaulted two men.
One victim says Garza hit him over the head with a beer bottle, breaking his nose, and also bit him in the chest.
The other victim said Garza bit part of his thumb off.
Police say Monica Partida was in the club and told them she had broken up with Garza earlier that day.
She said Garza had texted her several times, warning her that if she danced with anyone else at the night club, there would be trouble.
Sergeant Joe Snyder with the Wichita Falls Police Department says Garza is a person of interest in Partida's murder.
Records show previous convictions on Garza for assault family violence and injury to a child.
