Authorities: Suspect planned to kill a man with gun borrowed from undercover officer

Christopher Robertson is charged with criminal solicitation of murder, robbery, and two drug charges.

Tuesday morning, an officer who had been working undercover said he received a text from Robertson asking if he had a gun he could borrow to commit a murder.

The officer said he would trade a gun for meth, and agreed to pick Robertson up at a Motel 6.

Tuesday afternoon, the officer said they drove to some apartments on Highway 79 to pick up the gun.

While en route the officer said Robertson said he was going to go find the victim, kick his door in and shoot him in the chest, and the comments were recorded.

When they arrived at the apartment the officer said another undercover officer met them and gave them the gun.

Later Tuesday, the officer said Robertson took him to get the meth in the 2300 block of 8th street.

The officer said he gave Robertson $90  for the meth.

When they left, a controlled traffic stop was conducted on 10th street and Robertson was arrested.
