Wichita Falls Police are still searching for a man they say shot another man in his car early this morning.

Police were called to Highpoint Village Apartments on Professional Drive around 1am Friday on a shots fired call.

They did not find anything at the complex, then just about thirty minutes later police were called to United Regional for a gunshot victim.

23-year-old Akeem Johnson says he was in the parking lot at the apartments when he got into an argument with someone he knew and he says at that point a man opened his car door and pointed a handgun at him.

Johnson says he reached up to try to push the gun away and that is when he was shot in the hand and his leg was grazed.

He says he threw the car in reverse and drove to his home before heading to United Regional for treatment.

Police say the shooter was wearing a black mask or bandana over his face and he was a thin black male.
