ELECTRA, TX - The Hillards were watching KFDX when suddenly their power went out, and that was around 4 yesterday afternoon.
They say they've tried to contact their electric company to get an idea of how long the power will be out, but they haven't had any luck!
Electra resident, Dwayne Hillard said "it's stressful, we don't know how long it's going to be, it's difficult to get some answers."
Allsup's is currently the only place in town providing food, beverages and especially ice. Residents say they're trying to preserve as much food as possible by putting a bag of ice in their fridge or freezer.
"Hopefully the power will come on, hopefully it will come on today and then therefore we shouldn't lose much of anything if anything," Hillard added.
Allsup's Assistant Store Manager, Cody Byrd, said there has been a constant flow of traffic in his store since 6 this morning.
Byrd said "we have our own ice machine so we keep the ice box stocked, pretty much they come in and get what they need."
And City Administrator, Steve Bowlin says since the city took such a tremendous hit, teams have been hard at work trying to repair some major damage.
Bowlin stated "they currently have two structures that are damaged, they've began repairs on those. They're having to bring bulldozers in to bring their equipment into them and work on those two structures."
Meanwhile residents like the Hillards are just hoping crews are able to make the necessary repairs before the next storm moves through.
