Lines and lines of families started wrapping around McNiel Junior High as early as 8 A.M. on Saturday morning.
The "Round Up" provides children in Wichita Falls in head start through 12th grade with school supplies and services they need to start school.
There was free school supplies and backpacks for Wichita Falls ISD and City View ISD students who qualify for free and reduced lunch programs.
The event also featured free health screenings, sports physicals and immunizations for qualified children.
Organizers say this is an event that they feel many families in the Wichita Falls area need.
"If they don't have the basics, like food, they probably don't have other things. Or parents need assistance with other things. 63% of students, and I think that's even grown now, in the Wichita Falls ISD, qualify for the lunch program," organizer Vanda Wright says.
Wright says the turnout grows every year and as many as 2,500 families came out to the roundup this year.
