Quake Epicentered Near Lake Texoma

A small earthquake shook areas of southern Oklahoma and north central Texas near Lake Texoma on Sunday, September 8, 2013.

The temblow was a 2.9 magnitude and was the third quake in Oklahoma in a weeks time.  The other quakes were epicentered in central Oklahoma.

The quake was located just two counties east of Texoma.

According to the United States Geological Survey the earthquake was epicentered these distances from key locations in Oklahoma and Texas:

Oakland, OK = 5 miles
Ardmore, OK = 16 miles
Durant, OK = 30 miles
Denison, TX = 31 miles
Oklahoma City, OK = 100 miles
Wichita Falls, TX = 107 miles

According to the USGS only one person reported feeling the earthquake in the vicinity of the quake.  That person reported it was a 'weak' quake and reported no damage.
