After a two alarm fire a half dozen families now find themselves without homes in the new year.
Around 5:30 Tuesday evening a fire started in the 1300 block of Bell.
Investigators are still looking into the cause of the fire and authorities say six different apartments were affected.
“They didn't all have there apartments destroyed but the power was turned off to the unit. So we put them in a hotel so that they would have somewhere safe to stay,” said Katrina Farmer, Executive Director of Red Cross North Central Texas.
The Red Cross is also providing food for the families, as well as replacing some medication and winter clothing some of the people lost in the fire.
