Republican Candidate for TX Ag Commissioners Visits W.F.

For the March election one of four republican candidates running for Texas Agriculture Commissioner was in Wichita Falls today.
J Allen Carnes is running for the state's top agriculture office.
He grew up on a farm and ranch, is a cotton, grain and vegetable farmer and is the current mayor of Uvalde, Texas.
He says what the state really needs is an agriculture commissioner who will also address the state's biggest and most difficult issue-- water.

"We need people in Austin that are wanting to look for solutions and not solely worry about how this affects them in the next election cycle.  We have to plan for water usage in the state both from the homeowner to the farmers and ranchers. We have to plan for the next 50 years," Carnes says.

When it comes to the federal farm bill the U.S. House passed today Carnes says it's good for taxpayers, farmers and ranchers.
