Republican Study Committee American Health Care Reform Act

It's been three years since the passage of the Affordable Care Act and still GOP leaders rally to repeal the health care law.

Wednesday the Republican Study Committee released a new bill in response to the health care industries many problems.

The American Health Care Reform Act claims to level the playing field between those who receive insurance from an employer and those purchasing it in the individual market.

Congressman Mac Thornberry says it's a better solution than what the president has proposed and approaches the health care industries problems exactly the opposite way of the Affordable Care Act.

“It tries to make sure that we and our doctors have control over it and over the health decisions that we make so it has a variety of things that makes sure that it gives the individual say so over these very private personal issues,” said Rep. Mac Thornberry (R).

Thornberry says the bill is not a comprehensive solution to all the problems in the heatlh care industry, but it's a start.

Before the bill could move forward the Affordable Health Care act must be repealed.

Thornberry says that could take place Friday when they take another vote on the matter.
