'Robogirl' gets the chance to learn, recover from home

WICHITA FALLS - Technology is forever evolving, so much so that one Rider High School student is using technology to her advantage

Riley Pruitt got the — affectionate — nickname "Robogirl" after she started using a robot to replace her in class when she wasn't able to attend after sustaining an injury. 

When the idea was presented to her to still has a chance to attend her classes while recovering from home, she immediately jumped at it. 

Thanks to Region 9, Riley manages a robot from her computer at home. 

Equipped with a video camera and a microphone, she can hear and see what her teachers are saying and teachers can call on her during class as if she wasn't even gone.
