Rollover Accident in Burkburnett Sends One to the Hospital, Leaves Homeowners Without Power

East 3rd Street in Burkburnett is still closed this afternoon after a rollover car accident knocked down power lines, leaving several households without power.

The accident happened around 4:45 am. Lieutenant Lahoma Vaughn with the Burkburnett Police Department says for an unknown reason the driver of a blue 2011 Ford left the roadway the vehicle flipped  upside down. It then slamed into a utility pole and sparked a grass fire in front of Burdens Wrecker Service.

After a pin-in rescue from the Burkburnett Fire Department the driver was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. Emergency responders stayed on the scene until 6:30 am. ONCOR had power restored to 57 homes by 2:00 pm.

You can monitor ONCOR's repair efforts whenever there is a power outage by going to their outage website: http://stormcenter.oncor.com/external/default.html.
