Some people would give the shirts off their backs to help others in need, while in Wichita Falls, some are giving the shoes off their feet to help the homeless.
Coordinators of Texoma's Hellacious Obstacle Run, also known as THOR dropped off more than 140 pairs of shoes this morning to Faith Mission Homeless Shelter.
They were donated earlier this month by runners who took part in the a 5-Kilometer race, which had them jumping and climbing obstacle courses. as well as sliding through mud.
Coordinators say after the run was over many runners decided to hand over their shoes to help the area's homeless.
"Most of the mud runs in Texas do have places where they can donate the shoes afterwards and they're cleaned up and given to places like Faith Mission who really need the shoes," says Jenny Burns with the THOR Organization.
Burns says it took two weeks to clean all of the shoes.
Faith Mission officials will put all of the shoes in the shelter's clothing room and distribute them as needed.
