Participants tested their cardio abilities on the Wee-Chi-Tah Trail by either running a marathon, a half-marathon, or the ultra-marathon.
It's sponsored by "Streams and Valleys", and coordinators say this two-day event not only helps boost the local economy, but for the first time, the run is a Boston Marathon qualifier.
Sandy Monson, Streams and Valleys executive director, says, "We wanted our friends to be able to sleep in their own beds, spend their money here in town, and have a Boston qualifier here. And all of our out-of-town friends, we wanted them to come and stay in our hotels and eat in our restaurants."
The Duel continues tomorrow with a 5K, a half-marathon, an ultra-marathon, and a Boston qualifier full marathon.
If you didn't register early, you can still do so tomorrow morning from 7 to 8 at the Hotter 'n Hell Clubhouse on Scott St.
