And in the Sheppard Air Force Base court room, during a court martial an airman is sentenced to five months confinement for the sexual assault of a child.
Airman Basic Benjamin Peck is charged with sexual assault of a child and general article, which is using the internet to entice a minor.
Mechell Dixon was in the court room during today's court martial.
What was his demeanor?
At times Airman Basic Benjamin Peck was serious as he sat up straight listening to testimony but at other times he appeared remorseful and even wiped away tears.
Peck plead guilty not long after his court martial started this morning.
Only a few witnesses were called to testify including teen Peck plead guilty to sexually assaulting.
On the stand the teen said in October 2012 she met Peck in an anonymous chat room.
She said their online friendship continued after he joined the Air Force in July 2013 but their conversations turned from discussing school and the Air Force to sex.
Then, Peck read a tearful statement to the court, saying he was "truly sorry" his actions hurt the teen and her family, his father, who is an Orthodox priest, and the Air Force.
Peck faced 12 months confinement, a bad conduct discharge, two thirds forfeiture of his pay for 12 months and a rank reduction.
But here's what the judge sentenced him to-- five months confinement, more than $1,000 forfeited from his paycheck each month for five months and for his Air Force file to contain a written reprimand of his court martial.
And while Peck was not discharged from the Air Force, Sheppard officials tell me will most likely have to register as a sex offender.
