Christmas will be a whole lot merrier for some children in Electra thanks to the city's chamber of commerce...
This year's Santa's Toy Box event will draw to a close when dozens of toys will be handed to parents on Wednesday morning.
Electra Chamber of Commerce Manager Sherry Strange says 88 children, ranging between 1 - 12 years of age, will benefit and have christmas presents under the tree thanks to the community's donations.
Strange says this program is necessary for the community.
"I think it's really important because most of them in our town are struggling, a lot of the parents are struggling with their financial situations at this time and I think it's important that the kids have a little joy. Something to look forward to. We try to help them as much as we can," Strange says.
Volunteers will bag the toys up on Wednesday 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The chamber of commerce is already collecting donations for next year's Santa's Toy Box.
If you would like to help, donations can be made out Santa's Toy Box at 112 W. Cleveland in Electra.
