Second Suspect Arrested in Connection with November Shooting

Wichita Falls police have arrested a second suspect in connection with a November shooting. Officers arrested 19-year-old Steven Lawrence on three counts of aggravated assault.

Authorities had originally arrested 23-year-old Sheldon Routh on May 12th for his role in the incident. Officers say on November 7th Routh grabbed a gun and fired off several shots after a drug deal went south.

The next day, officers say witnesses told them Routh and Lawrence drove up and started shooting at them at the 7-11 off of Central Freeway.

Routh is charged with four counts of deadly conduct and three counts of aggravated assault. His bonds are set at a little more than a million dollars and Lawrence's bonds total $450-thousand dollars.
