It's been a rather strange week in Waurika.

First the city commission fired the city manager, then a few days later reversed that decision, and then put him on administrative leave with pay.

As of Monday, they have a new part-time acting city manager, a new assistant city manager, and a city manager on administrative leave.

City Manager Chuck Brown was fired last Monday with no public reason given. According to the Waurika News Democrat Newspaper, Brown said he had no idea he was being terminated after 7 years, and no idea he was going to be, quote-- "unterminated" Thursday in another meeting and put on indefinite leave with pay.

Then Monday, the council met again and appointed a temporary, part-time city manger, then hired retired insurance agent and current rancher Brad Scott.

They also appointed City Treasurer Nancy Bluml as assistant city manager. Meanwhile, Brown is on 90-day administrative leave with full pay and benefits.

As of Monday no additional meetings have been set.
