A group from Sheppard Air Force Base spent two hours packing food and drinks into bags Saturday morning.
The food will be given out on Fridays to local students who aren't guaranteed a meal when they are not in school.
This is the first time the base is adopting one specific school.
There "power packs" will go to Sam Houston Elementary, where more than one hundred students need extra meals.
Organizers say they don't mind the work because they know the community needs the help.
“It's really just about people helping people, it's a really insignificant amount of time for us to come out but it makes a huge difference impact on the local community,” says Curriculum Development Manager Skylar Graham.
One thousand packs were made Saturday.
The group will return every two months to make sure their school is covered.
