Sidecar Brewery closes its doors

WICHITA FALLS - Just a few months after Wichita Falls' first-ever brewery opened up in the old Pumpjack Diner location its doors are closed for good.

Former employees at Sidecar Brewery said they met with owners Monday and were told because of finances the business could no longer survive.

Sidecar Brewery offered different craft beer styles from IPA's to even a coconut brown ale. The brewery also had a kitchen for diners as they tried out different beers.

In May 2005, Pumpjack Diner opened up with what were two 50-year old restaurants brought in from Ohio and Delaware. In Nov. 2006, someone stole more than $1,500 worth of food and beer from the Pumpjack's freezer on a Friday night or Saturday morning. The diner closed for good that Sunday night.
