Six Flags Over Texas Confirms One Dead After Falling Off Roller Coaster

Six Flags Over Texas officials in Arlington have confirmed an adult woman died while riding the Texas Giant on Friday evening.
Witnesses say the restraints came undone and the woman simply vanished off the ride.
Originally, an all wooden roller coaster in 1990, the ride was redesigned with a steel track and reopened in April of 2011.
Six Flags Over Texas did issue a statement regarding this accident.
It reads in part: Since the safety of our guests and employees is our number one priority, the ride has been closed pending further investigation. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends during this difficult time.
