Some Activities Not Prohibited by Wichita County Burn Ban

There are some activities that are not prohibited by the burn ban: firefighter training; public utility, natural gas pipeline, or mining operations; planting or harvesting agricultural crops' burns conducted by a prescribed burn manager; and outdoor welding operations can continue.
If you are welding, you're required to have 10 gallons of water available on site and also clear your work area of any vegetation.
You must also call the Wichita County Sheriff's Office at (940) 766-8276 to notify them of your operation.
Violations of the burn ban are punishable of a fine up to $500.
