Investigators with the Wichita Falls P.D. believe they may know why a woman lost control of a car and crashed it this afternoon.

It happened around 3, at the intersection of North Rosewood and Elwood. Sergeant John Spragins says speed may have contributed to the crash. The car slid sideways at one point, went over a curb, and then hit a tree before slamming into a building.

Spragins says the Fire Department arrived quickly, and used the jaws of life to free the woman from the car. She was transported to United Regional with what were believed to be non life-threatening injuries.
