Stepmother testifies in Sara Woody trial

WICHITA FALLS - Testimony resumes Wednesday morning at 9 in 30th District Court in the child abuse trial of Sara Woody.

Among those on the stand Tuesday was Jonathan Woody's stepmother.

Jonathan is Sara's husband.

Sharon Woody testified that on one 4th of July, there was what she called a major meltdown when Sara's older stepson forgot his swimsuit.

She said Sara told all the children they could not swim because of his mistake, and that it was his responsibility to bring all the swimsuits.

Sharon testified the boys, who live with her now, have voiced to her they're afraid of their stepmother, and that they were underweight when she took them in.

She also said she believes they're truthful children.

Sharon Woody testified they've had to hire a  tudor for the older boy since he's so far behind in school, and that the younger boy had to repeat 1st grade.

After this testimony, the prosecution rested its case.

Then, the defense called a woman to the stand who works at Children's Aid Society.

She testified the older boy told her he ran into a wall while playing and hurt his mouth, and that he does it all the time.
