School will soon be out for the summer and many students will be looking for summer jobs..
Some businesses have already started hiring.
So, are jobs still available?
Mechell Dixon headed to get the answer to that question and she joins us now with more.
Managers at many Wichita Falls businesses tell me they have already hired most of seasonal positions that are available for this summer but some places are still taking applications.
Summertime is when many kids replace school books with swimming but for some it's a time to settle into a summer job.
"There's not really a big peak for us to hire for, but we do start hiring some of those students more through, like early May and June," says Kerry Beaver, Target team leader.
At Lowes, human resources officials say they have been hiring summer employees since January.
So far, managers say about 60 people have been put on the payroll.
Last month in the Lone Star State, the unemployment rate was 6.3%.
Officials at Texas Workforce Solutions say that number here in Wichita Falls was 5.9%.
It's unknown how much that number will rise after students get out of school for the summer and start searching for jobs because Workforce Solution officials say those students could be as young as 15, but for those youngsters who are looking to dive into summer employment jobs still available.
Two businesses currently hiking kids ages 15 and older include Castaway Cove Waterpark and all three United Supermarket stores in Wichita Falls.
