A woman driving the wrong way on Central Fwy is taken to United Regional hospital after crashing into a semi early Thursday morning.
The crash happened just before 3 a.m. in the 600 block of NB Central Fwy.
The driver in the 18-wheeler told police he tried to avoid her but they collided head on. Police said he was not injured.
Officials said the woman was conscious when they arrived and told them she must have blacked out while driving. Officials said alcohol and drugs did not appear to play a factor.
The entire northbound portion was shut down because the semi was blocking both lanes. Lanes were back open around 5:30 a.m.
