"T" at Texoma Community Credit Union is now Purple !

Volunteers from The American Cancer Society , a representative from Texas Oncology and from Texoma Community Credit Union used some heavy- duty elbow grease this morning to change the "T" in front of the bank.

They painted the "T" a vibrant purple.

Every so often, the "T" is painted to raise awareness for different types of cancer.

This month, the reason is two-fold: in celebration of the upcoming Relay For Life here in Wichita Falls, and to celebrate The American Cancer Society's centennial anniversary.

On May 22, 1913, 15 doctors and businessmen in New York came together to create "The American Society For The Control Of Cancer".

Throughout its 100 years, the name was eventually shortened to "The American Cancer Society".

The "T" will stay purple over the next few weeks until the Relay event is held on June 7th at McNiel Jr. High.
