Some environmental groups claim the oil industry is to blame for much of the pollution in the United States, but some oil companies are using new technology that reduces pollution and consumption of power.
Technology showcased at the oil and energy expo aims to help oil and gas companies "go green".
411 NRG is one company helping oil producers operate rigs with solar power, which is also is a huge benefit in remote areas with no utility service, and it can help reduce their costs of drilling and pumping.
Gary Jones, the president and CEO of 411 NRG, says, "The biggest benefit of the solar panel is being able to freeze the cost of electricity in the oil field. One of the biggest expenses in the oil field after the field has been drilled is electricity expense."
Jones says solar energy panels can last up to 50 years.
