A teenager charged in what authorities call the "thrill kill" of Australian baseball player Chris Lane is due in court.

The case against James Edwards is scheduled for a preliminary hearing at the Stephens County Courthouse Tuesday morning.

He's charged with first-degree murder in Lane's death.

Lane was gunned down August 16 of last year while jogging in Duncan.

James Edwards says he was in the car with Chancey Luna and Michael Jones and was rolling a joint of marijuana when Luna shot Lane.

Edwards is giving his testimony against Jones and Luna in hopes of a lesser charge of accessory after the fact.

Edwards is also listed as a witness in the case against Oddesse Barnes, who's charged with accessory after the fact of first-degree murder, and is accused of concealing the .22 caliber revolver that police say was used to kill Lane.
