Wichita Falls police are searching for a suspect who ran off after a failed burglary attempt.

It happened Friday morning at the 4100 block of Burkburnett Road. Lieutenant David Ferguson said the owners of Man Made Fashion were working late when around 12:30 a.m. they heard someone try to pry the back door open.

When police arrived they managed to detain a 16-year-old who was taken into custody. He's facing charges of burglary, unlawful carrying of a weapon, and theft for having a stolen gun.

Ferguson said a second suspect was also at the scene but got into a vehicle and drove off. Officers found the suspected get-away car abandoned behind Kate Haynes Elementary School on Kathleen St.

Police say they do know the identity of the second person involved, but no arrests have been made at this time.
