A Young County man charged with the gruesome killings of his two young sons in 2011 finally has a tentative trial date and trial location.

Court officials in Young County and the state attorney general's office say the capital murder trial of Gabriel Armandariz is tentatively set for early January in Tarrant County, pending final arrangements.

Officials say jury selection could take between 4 and 6 weeks. Armandariz had already been ruled competent to stand trial.

In an interview against the wishes of his attorney in the Young County Jail, Armandariz told us he killed his sons because his fiance told him to.

Six-month-old Luke, and two-year-old Gatlin were reported missing on April 13th 2011 after family members say Armandariz sent them pictures of the boys from his cell phone.

Police say in the pictures, one of the boys was hanging by his neck. Armandariz says he sent the pictures because his fiance wanted confirmation.

Police say the two boys' bodies were found underneath a home in Graham where they had once lived with Armandariz.
