Tentative Trial Date Set for Two Suspects in Chris Lane Murder

- A tentative trial date has been set for two defendants charged in the shooting death of Australian baseball player Chris Lane.

Michael Jones and Chancey Luna are both charged with first-degree murder in Lane's death.

They're expected to go to trial August 18.

That date will be confirmed at an August 6 court hearing.

Prosecutors say they expect the trial to last two weeks.

Twenty-two year-old Lane was fatally shot while jogging in Duncan last August.

Police believe Luna pulled the trigger.

Also appearing in court this morning, a third person charged in connection with Lane's death.

Oddesse Barnes is accused of concealing the gun used to kill Lane.

He's due back in court July 30.

James Edwards is also charged.

Edwards says he was in the car, with Luna and Jones, rolling a joint of marijuana when Luna shot Lane.

Prosecutors say his testimony will be used against Luna and Jones in their trials.

He's also listed as a witness testifying against Barnes, too.

Edwards' next court hearing is June 17.
