Testimony Continues in Maher Trial After Morning Evidentiary Hearing

A Stephens County Murder Trial runs into more complications, but after another evidentiary hearing this morning, testimony resumed this afternoon in the  trial of 25-year-old Timothy Maher in Duncan.
The question  apparently centers on an agreement prosecutors made with Maher's wife in  exchange for her testimony against him. But the defense objected when the agreement was mentioned, because they say it was never introduced into the trial. The attorney requested to see a copy of it, but so far prosecutors say they have not been able to find it.
In exchange for her testimony, the District Attorney reportedly agreed to reduce or drop charges against Mrs. Maher for  being an accessory to murder.
Tuesday, Ruth Ann Maher testified she heard Maher and 34- year- old Maurice Wade arguing before her husband pulled a gun and shot wade in January of last year.
Testimony indicated the two had been partying earlier that day. Wednesday, the medical examiner testified of the 20 or so gunshot wounds Wade suffered, three would be immediately fatal and at least 7 would be fatal without immediate medical treatment.
The prosecution will continue presenting its case Thursday morning.
