Ten historic ranches will battle it out and raise money for three charities starting Friday at the MPEC.
The annual Texas Ranch Roundup showcases some of the best in cowboy culture.
Everything from nightly rodeos, talent competitions, and cooking competitions highlight the two days of events.
Yesterday, a legion of volunteers converged on the MPEC to begin setting up more than 200 booths in the exhibit hall.
And, it's their effort that has organizers thankful.
"Throughout the whole weekend it takes about 300 volunteers to make this event run and there are five of us who are actually staff members for the Texas Ranch Roundup, but we couldn't do it without those many volunteers."
In the over 30- year history of the roundup, over 3-million dollars has been raised," says event coordinator Ashley Sims.
The North Texas Rehabilitation Center, West Texas Boys Ranch, and West Texas Rehabilitation Center hope to see that number climb yet again this year.
