Texoma, Hottest Place in the U.S.

The National Weather Service has confirmed that Texoma was the hottest location in the United States on Monday, May 5, 2014.

The actual hottest location was Altus, Oklahoma recording a high of 107 degrees.

Here is a list of high temperatures in Texoma on May 5:
  • 107  Altus, OK
  • 105  Frederick, OK
  • 105  Childress, TX
  • 105  Vernon, TX
  • 102  Wichita Falls, TX
  • 101  Graham, TX
  • 97  Duncan, OK
  • 95  Bowie, TX

In addition to being the hottest location in the United States, Wichita Falls set it's second record high in a row.

On Sunday, May 4, 2014 the old record was 98 in 2012.  The temperature recorded on Sunday was 99 setting the new record.

On Monday, May 5, 2014 the old record was 98 in 2003 and again in 2012.  The temperature recorded on Monday was 102 setting the new record.

Today, Tuesday, May 6, 2014 the current record is 96 set in 1929.  The current forecast for today is 102.  So, if we break the record it will be the first time in 85 years!
