An app called TipSubmit is available on either iPhone or Android, or you can simply text it in.
Crime Stoppers says it is reaching out to a younger generation by making it easier to communicate crimes in progress.
"Its anonymous its safe and that's one thing about texting with kids or just the younger generation, they feel its safer to text than to pick up the phone and call someone,” said officer Joseph Roberson with Crime Stoppers.
One of the more interesting features of this new app is the ability to send a photo of the suspect or crime being committed.
Roberson says that alone will aide in the detention and capture of suspects more efficiently than a phone call ever can.
To text your tip in, all you have to do is text to crimes (274-637).
Text "wfcrime" along with your message and of course you still can call in your tips at 322-9888.
