The continued drought is causing business for some pool service companies to evaporate and others to be flooded with customers.

If the recommended Stage 5 water restrictions are approved, filling and refilling pools with potable Wichita Falls city water will not be allowed.

Some pool company owners say tightened conservation efforts already are causing a drop in services, like replacing liners and maintenance work on pools.

However, other pool businesses say they have actually  seen an increase in pool cover sales and chemicals that some pool owners are using well and rain water to refill their pools, as well getting their well water tested.

However, the health department advises pool owners not to use rain water for pools because of the potential microorganisms that  filters may not catch and  chemicals not kill.
