Thousands packed the MPEC in Wichita Falls this weekend for the 34th annual Gun and Knife show.

This weekend's show is one of five year round shows hosted at the MPEC.

Organizers say the shows have been bringing people out from all over Texoma out since 1980.

And it's not only community members, but also vendors.

Organzer Joe Tom White says vendors come from all over Texas and Oklahoma to show off their goods.

He says although local vendors often worry about local business sales during this weekend, in recent years they have found that the shows actually boost the local economy.

White says people often think the show hurts local business, but local vendors tell him it's like five extra Christmases. People go to the show and look and almost buy items, and don't but then they come down the week after the gun show to buy it from those local vendors.

The next show will be on October 11th and 12th at the MPEC.
