Three-Year-Old Becomes Honorary Deputy

The Wichita County Sheriff's Office has a new deputy. Three-year-old Corbin Cohn was made an honorary deputy Tuesday.

He was born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome and has had three open heart surgeries. It's a complex and rare heart defect where the left side of the heart is critically underdeveloped -- forcing causing the right side of the heart to do all the work.

Corbin's family says he loves emergency vehicles, the sirens, and flashing lights, and that he's delighted to become a special part of the force.

He received a badge -- a certificate -- and a pair of handcuffs.
