Two duffle bags full of marijuana are off the streets and two Californians are behind bars after a DPS traffic stop on a Texoma highway.

Thirty-year-old Emmanuel Ayon and 28-year-old Gerardo Aranzazu are charged with possession of marijuana over 50 pounds.

According to an arrest affidavit, a DPS trooper pulled over a Honda CRV driven by Aranzazu after he committed a traffic violation as he was headed south on Highway 287.

The trooper says he noticed several signs of criminal activity, so he asked for consent to search the vehicle, which Aranzazu denied.

A K9 and additional troopers arrived on scene and the troopers say the K9 alerted to smell of drugs.

Upon a search, the troopers say they found two duffle bags full of vacuum-sealed packages of marijuana.

In all, troopers say they found about 60 pounds of the drug in the vehicle.

Both Ayon and Aranzazu are jailed on $75,000 bonds.
