Tuesday's Child: Ella "Grace"

Grace is a sweet, talkative, and loving child.

Grace enjoys going shopping and out to eat. Grace loves to be the center of attention. She also likes to color and play on the computer.

Grace has been diagnosed with Spina Bifida (had surgery to correct), club feet at birth (had surgery to correct), hydrocephalus (has VP shunt to correct), neurogenic bladder, Arnold Chiari malformation, ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and Insomnia. Grace only has one working kidney and therefore has to be catheterized every three hours. Grace uses forearm crutches to walk and does use a wheelchair for when long distance walking is needed.

Grace will be best matched with a family who is knowledgeable of her medical conditions and able to meet those needs. She will also thrive in a home that is very committed to her. Grace will thrive in a home with structure, routine, and clearly defined boundaries. She would do best in a home where she is the only child or the youngest child. Her family will need to be committed to following through with any additional services that she may need in the future. This will include family and individual supportive services, as well as community services.
