Two arrested after high speed chase

Wichita County authorities say two men are behind bars after a high speed chase Tuesday evening.

Michael Lopez, 20, is charged with evading arrest, and Darris Garza, 27, was arrested for a warrant, charged with theft over $500 - under $1,500.

Wichita County Sheriff's Office says at 11:45 p.m. authorities tried to pull over a car on Rosewood Avenue without headlights.

But, they say the car sped off.

The Sheriff's Office says the car headed down Charlie Road where DPS put down spikes to stop the car.

Two tires were spiked but the car kept going.

Wichita County Sheriff's Office eventually spiked the other two tires, but the car didn't stop until they rammed it off the road.

Lopez and Garza remain in the Wichita County Jail.
