Two Texas Schools Cancel Classes for Football

Two east Texas districts are planning to cancel school to let players and fans attend their championship game in Arlington.

The Kilgore Bulldogs and the Carthage Bulldogs will face off at AT&T Stadium at noon on Friday.

The match-up is the UIL class 3A Division I state championship also known as the "East Texas Bowl."

Both the Kilgore and Carthage school districts plan to cancel school for Friday so players and fans can attend the game.

Friday was previously scheduled as the last day of school before winter break in both districts.
