UIL Marching Contest set to start earlier this weekend

Saturday morning's UIL Regional marching contest at Memorial Stadium will be starting early.
Instead of 10 am, the first band will march at 8:15.

UIL Regional Secretary Wendell Gideon says instead of starting with bands from 1A schools, Wichita Falls High School will march first, followed by Rider High School, he says 4A bands will follow and then the smaller bands in the original order.

Bands that are eligible this year to advance onto area competition next Saturday are 2A, 3A and 5A bands.

Those that qualify could go onto state marching competition at the Alamodome in San Antonio.
