WICHITA FALLS - After a hectic beginning of the week, United Regional Hospital in Wichita Falls is now seeing some relief in the number of patients being treated.
On Tuesday, United Regional Officials released a statement asking those being affected by the flu to seek help from a primary care physician before going to the emergency room.
Also on Tuesday, the hospital was at level 5, which indicated the hospital was reaching capacity.
United Regional and other community hospitals partnered together during the level 5, but now hospital officials are saying they're functioning at a reasonable level.
"The ER remains very busy, but it seems the messaging earlier this week helped. And we are happy to report that not as many patients are requiring hospitalization for flu and other respiratory illnesses," United Regional Senior Vice President Nancy Townly.
